Folly Beach is a city, located on historic Folly Island, in Charleston County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 2,117 at the 2000 census. As defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, and used by the U.S. Census Bureau for statistical purposes only, Folly Beach is included within the Charleston-NorthCharleston-Summerville metropolitan area and the Charleston-North Charleston Urbanized Area.

The Folly Beach Edwin S. Taylor Pier is 24 feet wide, extends more than 1,045 feet into the Atlantic Ocean and is 23 feet above sea level.
